Attributions of Past Regional Sea-Level Variations and Projection of Future Sea-Level Changes

Dr. Tong Lee is a physical oceanographer at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology. He has broad research interest in the linkages of physical variability and processes of the ocean with climate, weather, and water cycle. His sea level research focuses on understanding (1) the mechanisms of the regional dynamic sea level variations during the satellite altimeter era and the effects of forcing from the atmosphere, cryosphere, and hydrology, (2) the cause for the discrepancies in the projections of regional dynamic sea level in the future from climate models, and (3) the cause for the discrepancies in seasonal predictions of regional dynamic sea level from seasonal prediction models.
