Quantifying Contributions from Glaciers and Terrestrial Hydrology to Recent and Future Sea-Level Change; Refining projections of glacier contributions to sea-level rise from 1950 to 2300 using advanced inference methods
David Rounce's research seeks to quantify the response of glaciers, water resources, and hazards to climate change to inform adaptation and mitigation efforts at local, regional, and global scales for mountain and coastal communities. His work uses computational models informed by remote sensing and grounded in fieldwork to produce actionable information. He is the lead developer of the Python Glacier Evolution Model (PyGEM), which is a global glacier evolution model.
