Global interconnections of Cryosphere and Solid Earth, Sea-level Change and Ice Mass Balance

Dr. Erik Ivins is a senior research scientist at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif., who studies sea level change, the cryosphere and the physics of the solid Earth. He leads NASA's participation in the Ice Sheet Mass Balance Inter-comparison Exercise (IMBIE), which seeks to accurately estimate mass loss and gain in the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets. Ivins has been a member of the Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) team since 2003.
