Alex Gardner is a Research Scientist in the Sea Level And Ice group, in the Earth Sciences Section at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology. He studies the Earth's cryosphere (frozen Earth) with a particular focus on glaciers and their impacts on sea level rise and water resources. He is interested in how glaciers respond to natural and human induced forcing. Alex is a member of the NASA Sea Level Change Team, and NASA’s ICESat-2 Science Definition Team. Before joining JPL in 2014 he was an assistant professor in the Graduate School of Geography at Clark University, Massachusetts.
